The new Guyton RS 'Time warp' guitars

We are very pleased to announce, with Brian's complete backing, another limited edition of the Guyton Red Special. As the guitars that we built for the film Bohemian Rhapsody, these guitars are being built to replicate two iconic periods in Queen's history, the recording of 'Night at the opera' and Live Aid. They combine everything I have learnt about building and studying the Red Special over the last sixteen years.
I have tracked down a stock of many original parts including the 80's design Schaller M6 tuners and the Bulgin jack sockets. The Jean Renaud switches have been faithfully recreated in every detail possible as has every other part. The 'Burns' Trisonic pickups will be equipped with genuine magnets from the 1960's, all built by the capable hands of Adrian Turner of Adeson.
The guitars will all be painstakingly aged to mimic the years of touring and recording. They will also be period correct with the level of wear and tear. All the guitars will be built following Brian and his father's methods as well as using identical adhesives and finish.
Included with each guitar will be an aged replica of Brian's strap and a luxury boxed and signed (hopefully by Brian...) book detailing my history with the Red Special and the development and manufacture of the Guyton RS 'Time warp' guitars. Each guitar will be supplied in a custom fitted Hoffee carbon fibre hard case.
My aim with building these guitars is to create THE most accurate RS replica that will EVER be built.
I will only ever build 21 of these guitars, twenty for customers and one for myself.
All of the 2019/2020 production run are now sold. I have ten left for 2021/2022. Because of wait, I am unable to guarantee prices at this point, but they will be around £14,500 plus any local taxes and shipping.

Full details will be on the website in the next couple of months.

Dear Mr.Guyton!
I am the Queen fan since 1986, and the Red Special guitar always was a blue dream since my childhood when I learned at musical school to play guitar and piano.
Recently, I found out that you and your company soon will be accepting pre-orders for your genuine Red Special guitar. I have an enormous wish and desire to have this guitar in my posession. However, due to my longtime chronical disability I am unable to work, and all my resources and income go from my USA pension which are very limited - $858 per month. If I'll pay £14,500 from all my credit cards for the RS guitar, I'll be in a huge debt before banks, and I'll be in a very very difficult and cramped financial situation for 3-4 years....
Based, on abovementioned circumstances that I have, I dare to ask you. Could I, mr.Guyton, in order of exception to place the order and pay for your guitar and work somewhere about £9,000 - £10,000 ?...It'll be much easier for me to pay off the balance from my credit card within of 1.5 - 2 years.
I hope on your generosity and understanding that of what I explained you above is the real truth.

Thank you.

With warm wishes,
Daniel Grin.

Dear Mr Grin, I'd personally struggle to afford this even though I work and have to pay the bills, mortgage etc. I am not in a position to buy this financially so it wouldn't be prudent for yourself to do that either, regardless of your situation. Financial advisers would say no to your story. You have your life ahead of you so it would be suggested to plan for that over a guitar. Like you, i've been a huge fan of BM since my childhood although I had to learn the guitar, without any formal tuition , at home alone. Piano was forced upon me by my parents which traumatised me, hence I rebelled by learning the guitar. Believe me, it truly wasn't pleasant.

Mr Guyton would be at pains to satisfy every request and to post the above simple isn't cricket (or baseball from where you're from). There are alternatives available on the market and the original Guyton RS's do pop up on the 'bay occasionally. Hope that helps.

In regard to the replica belt straps that come with the guitars - will they be like the one in the movie, or will they be more accurate? ...and if there’s one or two extra made, don’t hesitate to e-mail me..! :-)

So sorry for not getting back to you, I have only just seen this!
The straps will be VERY close to the real thing....not like the ones in the film.

Cheers

What did he do to your super?

Jonathan
He added a series/parallel button (like the one he did for Brian), changes the standard Super bridge to a BM one and put a new scratch plat on, also a KAT Super volume pot as Brian now uses.

Fantastic job. Email me if you want some pics. Or Instagram @jamietftg

Will you ever do other 80s time warp? because in 3 years I will be of age and I will have some money from an inheritance, and if it is possible I would like to use a small part of it for a time warp
