The 'Time-Warp' Red Special guitars

On the back of the two guitars that I built for the Bohemian Rhapsody movie, I had a growing amount of potential customers all asking for a period correct 'reliced' Red Special. With this in mind I decided to issue another limited edition of Guyton Red Specials. This time, as in the movie, they would be available in either a 70's or an 80's version. At the time of launch it was decided that it would be a limited version of 20 guitars, with one for myself. However, the interest was so strong that I decided to make 'my' guitar available, so it was limited to 21 guitars.
The project called for a great deal of research as I was going to use original parts, and where these weren't available, I was going to have to have them built or re-created. I had enormous amount of help from various specialists, and also called on the help of RS enthusiasts. With the 'Time-Warp' Red Special guitars, I set out to make THE closest replicas that were commercially available. |
All 21 guitars have now been sold

A book has also been written about the build of these guitars. A copy was given to every 'Time-Warp' owner. These books have now been made available.
