Guyton Semi-Acoustic
In mid 2003, I was asked to build a small bodied semi acoustic guitar similar to the PRS hollowbody 2. This guitar was to be hand-carved from the finest quilted Maple and fitted with a Brazilian Rosewood neck. It was one of those dream jobs where cutting of costs was not an option, the customer simply wanted the best of everything.
Specification
Body
Front and rear plates hand carved from the finest Quilted Maple, with a Brazilian Mahogany centre.
Neck
Brazilian Rosewood with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and binding, inlaid with Paua Abalone dot markers and 18ct Gold 'rings'. Fretted with Dunlop 6100 fretwire and fitted with a Tusq nut.
Hardware
2 off Soapbar pickups hand wound by Wizard pickups, controlled by 2 volume and 2 tone, and switched via a 3-way toggle switch. Tonepros wrapoverbridge, Schaller back locking tuners fitted with Ebo.
